Moving money with care

Money is never neutral. It shapes power and possibility. When it moves thoughtfully, it can become a force for justice and hope.

We support the people raising and distributing funding to do this work well.

What we do

We bring together strategy, coaching, and hands-on support to meet the realities of busy, high-pressure funding environments.

Our work is:

  • Practical: We are focused on what’s achievable with the capacity you have.

  • Compassionate: We recognise the emotional labour behind the work.

  • Collaborative: We work alongside you and the communities you support.

  • Values-led: We always centre fair, inclusive and trust-based funding practice.

Who we work with

We support:

  • Fundraisers navigating pressure, growth, or change

  • Funders and grantmakers designing equitable funding approaches

  • Charities, CICs, and community organisations working toward social and environmental justice

From grassroots groups to national funders, we centre community-led impact in everything we do.

Headshot of Sophie Griffiths, trust fundraising and funding strategist

Mona Impact is led by Sophie Griffiths (she/they), a fundraising and grantmaking strategist with over a decade of experience across the UK charity and funding sectors. Since 2012, Sophie has secured and distributed over £28m for social justice causes, contributing to change in policy and practice across domestic abuse, LGBTQ+ rights, and youth work.

During her career, Sophie has held fundraising positions at Stonewall, Women’s Aid and UK Youth, as well as leading grant distribution for Cornwall Community Foundation. She has secured grant funding from Comic Relief, Oak Foundation, National Lottery Community Foundation, Wellspring Foundation, Henry Smith Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and many, many more!

Having sat on both sides of the funding table, Sophie is well placed to offer insights. She understands first-hand the pressures fundraisers carry: the deadlines, uncertainty, emotional labour, and responsibility to communities. She also understands the challenges funders face: balancing accountability, fairness, risk, and impact within complex systems and limited resources. This dual perspective shapes everything Mona Impact offers, helping both funders and fundraisers so money can move in ways that genuinely support a fairer, kinder society.

A regenerative lens

Alongside funding expertise, Sophie brings a strong interest in regenerative activism, exploring how people working in resource, funding, and social change roles can sustain their impact over time.

Burnt-out people can’t build nourishing change: care, rest, and joy are not distractions from impact — they are part of it.

She is a qualified trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness facilitator, with training in psychotherapy and ecopsychology, and integrates these perspectives into her coaching and mentoring where helpful.
